Taeyoung Youn - International Scholarship Winner
The moment I entered Yale Secondary School, I knew I was in a right place with right people. I knew that this school could change my life significantly. I had great memories with great people, teachers and staff members. It was my honor to attend Yale Secondary School and spend 3 of my 4 years of my high school at Yale. I got closer with my friends and joined extracurricular activities such as rugby. When I was on the team, we finished the season with the most achievement out of all public schools. It was my honor to be on the team and play a great game with great students. The teachers were very friendly with the students and were willing to put their time and work to those who had difficulties understanding materials in classes. My English improved as time went on. My reading skills changed dramatically compared to previous years. I could understand what people were saying and now I can speak like a normal Caucasian. What I liked about Yale was that there are so many people around the globe; for example, Germany, Spain, Korean, Japan, and India. The diversity of school improved my English skills the most. The councilors were one of the reasons why I succeeded in high school. They were always there for me when I need. Especially, Mr.Barlett helped me out the most. Whenever I need to change my courses for my university next year, he would always offer the courses I should take to have an easier life in university. He, also, wrote my reference letter, helped me with my college application and high school courses. With the help of Mr.Barlett, I got in to Pennsylvania State University in the United States so I could chase after my dream of majoring in business. Also, my International Assistance, Rebecca Yeam helped me through my high school years. She was the one who nominated me for the international student scholarship. The memories I made at Yale Secondary school will be a memory that will last for the rest of my life. I thank my friends, teachers, and councilors for all their help and wish to come back to Yale Secondary school later in my life.
