Study Options

In Abbotsford International Students age 5 – 17 will have a Canadian English Immersion study experience.

We have Elementary schools (Grades K-5), Middle Schools (Grades 6-8), and Highschools (grades 9-12)

Students can study for

  • One 5 month semester (Sept - Jan) or (Feb - June)
  • One 10 month academic year (Sept - June) or (Feb - Jan)
  • Multiple Academic years

All schools offer English Language support.  Each student is individually assessed and receives either a dedicated block of ELL, or higher performing students may instead meet periodically with an ELL support teacher.  Right from the first day of school all students are in regular classes with Canadian students so they can start learning, practicing and making friends right away.

Students who satisfy the BC Graduation requirements are eligible to receive the BC Dogwood Graduation Diploma

Activities

We want students to study hard, but we want them to have fun too. Every semester we take our students to Victoria (the Capital of BC), Downtown Vancouver, as well as skiing at world famous Whistler Mountain. Each high school provides additional field trips and activities, and all international students can participate in awesome outdoor activities in our Outdoor Education Program. We end the year with a big International Festival for students and their homestay families. To learn more about activities in the school and community click here

But the REAL reason to choose Abbotsford is... STUDENT SUPPORT

Happy students are successful students. We believe that taking care of our students is even more important than providing a great education. We have our own Homestay program and a unique Student Support system. We make sure that students are closely monitored and supported throughout their stay.

**Please note students younger than 12 years old must reside in Abbotsford with a parent or direct relative**
